Three IFS customers win Technology & Business Awards. |

(15 August 2005, Chicago) IFS announced today that three IFS customers are among the winners of the 2005 Technology & Business (T&B) Awards, hosted by Start magazine and sponsored by IBM. The awards recognize end-user companies and their visions for implementing technology to solve business challenges. The IFS customers receiving awards are: Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., Bardstown, Ky. in the Food and Beverage category; Todd Pacific Shipyards Corp., Seattle in the transportation group; and Hunter Paine Enterprises, LLC, Pittsburg, California was given the Editor's Choice award. Representatives of all three companies were on hand to accept the awards at the T&B Awards ceremony, held Aug. 11 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago. Colin Proudfoot, chief financial officer of Hunter Paine, was one of four award winners chosen to speak at a half-day conference preceding the ceremony. Proudfoot told the audience how Hunter Paine, a startup manufacturer of wood replacement products, implemented a complete IT system quickly and cost effectively using a hosted enterprise solution from IFS and IBM. Heaven Hill, the largest independent, family-owned marketer and producer of distilled spirits in the United States, received the award for the efficiencies it has achieved since implementing IFS Applications business software. Finished goods inventory has gone down by as much as 20 percent, and order lead time has decreased by 30 percent as a result of the improved planning and operational capabilities that the new system provides. Todd Pacific, which is engaged in the repair, overhaul, conversion, and construction of military and commercial vessels, received the award for the innovative use of its IFS enterprise system to improve the efficiency of financial processes, reduce inventory, achieve Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) certification, and deploy an integrated wireless network to improve collaboration among employees working in more than 50 buildings.
